Aphex Twin
Album: Come To Daddy
Description: I was in the store one day, and saw this c.d., It looked really weird, and not to mention funny, I said sure what the hell, it's only like 10 bucks. So I bought it, not knowing anything about what was on the c.d. When I popped it in my c.d. player, I was amazed! The first track is a sort of heavy song, with a guy going I want your soul, I will eat your soul, kind of harsh isn't it? The beat was superb, very fast hard hitting, and full of bass. It was excellent, that was just the beginning, When I heard Bucephalus Bouncing Ball, I was stunned at the nature of the song! It was a bass line that bounced! Just buy this c.d. if your in the store and see it, I mean what's 10 bucks anyways right?
Album: Richard D. James
Description: This is the second c.d. of aphex twin I bought. This is a lot different from Come to Daddy; It's very good none the less. This album is more IDM (intelligentdancemusic) than any others. Its almost drum and bass in a lot of the songs. Aphex Twin is the master of techno. I mean, it's just so brilliantly composed. This c.d. is really fast, like squarepusher (another idm band), but has some slow melodies like on saw 2(another aphex twin album). I recommend this album for Drum and Bass lovers, or even if you like Jungle.
Album: I Care Because You Do
Description: Just when I thought I had Aphex Twin all figured out, along came this c.d. Totally different then other aphex albums. A lot of the tracks vary. Some are frightening like ICCT hedral (edit), some are more technoish like Start As You Mean to Go. I love this c.d. I don’t recommend it for first time aphex listeners, but its still very good!
Album: Selected Ambient Works Volume 2 (saw2)
Description: This album spreads across 2 c.d.'s. It's completely different than ANY aphex twin album EVER! It's not fast at all. Actually, some songs don't even have beats! It's what the title says, AMBIENT. A very good c.d. to relax to or whatever. This is my favorite album, some of the songs on the first c.d. are very frightening, and some of them on side 2 very ambient and spacey. Actually, this album is a collection of songs rdj did when he was young.
